A new close encounter opportunity is coming to Longleat in time for May half term, alongside a new species.

Wallaby Walkthrough will open as part of Family Farmyard giving guests to the Wiltshire estate the chance to walk among a mob of marsupials.

Currently, the resident red-necked wallabies and Western grey kangaroo, can be seen in the fields by Family Farmyard; the new experience opens on Saturday 23 May.

Visitors will also be able to see new Parma wallabies and may even be able to spot a red-necked wallaby joey poking its head out of its mum’s pouch.

Catriona Moy, Team Manager of Animal Adventure, said “We’re excited to introduce our two new Parma wallabies to Family Farmyard, and to be able to bring guests closer and improve their experience.

“Parma wallabies are the smallest wallaby species and will be joining the eclectic mix of animals that call Family Farmyard home.”

Wallaby Walkthrough opens on the first day of the estate’s May Half Term event, Close Encounters Live when there will be a bird of prey display with expert keepers, as well as being able to experience the recently opened Tiny Titans.

Tiny Titans highlights the small and mighty of the animal kingdom, allowing guests an immersive experience and the opportunity to get hands on*. The area includes jewel beetles, Chilean rose tarantula, orchid mantis and more.

We know guests enjoy these memorable experiences and we have taken the feedback on board to make our animal engagement habitats even more immersive,” said Catriona.

Guests can find more information and buy tickets in advance from £39.95 at longleat.co.uk
