Throughout the year there will be opportunities to promote your business to the travel trade either directly, through stand-sharing at events or by advertising in our communications. We will promote these opportunities via our industry communications and by direct contact with members who we believe will benefit from the activity.

The opportunities can be local, national or international in terms of location.

Taking England to the World travel trade training

The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare, 18 June 2024 (9.30am - 5.00pm, one day)

Visit West is working with VisitEngland to offer our local tourism businesses a free market-leading Taking England to the World training session.

Led by industry experts, the one-day face-to-face course is designed to help you reach new international and domestic audiences. Covering topics ranging from product development, pricing, and distribution to marketing and content creation, you’ll come away armed with practical tips to attract new global customers and grow your business.

Oh, and lunch is on us!

What will I learn?

The one-day course will give you a good foundation in key topic areas outlined below. You’ll receive practical takeaway tips to help you develop and promote your product for sale in key markets. 

• Inbound tourism- Value, opportunities, market behaviours and trends
• Defining your product offering, Pricing and Distribution
• Building powerful relationships with the travel trade
• Digital marketing and content creation

Spaces are limited, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. This event is offered free of charge, however a £25 no show fee will apply if a registration has not been cancelled within five working days of the event, to cover costs.

Group Leisure & Travel Show

Stadium MK, Milton Keynes, 3 October 2024 (one day)

Visit West shared stand space with members as a joined-up Bath & Bristol stand in 2023 and we were pleased at the number and quality of leads obtained – group organisers seriously interested in our region for overnight trips (as well as some day trips).

If you click on the 'Floorplan' link on the website above and then zoom in, we have booked stand 117, with the potential of also including half of stand 119. This is opposite the main entrance and also adjacent to Great West Way who will be on stand 109 again.

Estaimated basic cost will be £950 + vat per sharer (subject to a minimum number of sharers). We are minimising additional costs for stand design by allowing each exhibitor to bring along a standard width pull-up banner. Visit West will provide literature stands for visitor guides. There will be two 1m wide desks that we will share (very much like image above from 2023).

• Opportunity to meet domestic group buyers
• Use of lead scanning app to record contacts and meetings for easy follow-up
• Distribution of marketing material via the stand

A series of Market Update Webinars where you can hear the latest insights for key inbound markets to the UK.
Between June and October 2023, the free series of webinars offer a valuable opportunity to get up-to-date data and the latest market research on Asia, Europe and the Americas from VisitBritain's research team and in-market experts.   

Sessions focussed on Europe, India, China & Hong Kong in June; Australia and New Zealand in July; Japan & South Korea in August; Nordics and Germany in September and Italy, France, Spain and Brazil & South America in October.
