Visit West supports DMCs, wholesalers, ground handlers, tour operators, travel agents or transport companies looking to include and promote Bath, Bristol and the surrounding region to their customers, whether direct to consumers or B2B.
Bath and Bristol continue to exceed expectations as destinations for days out or short breaks, as well as offering a convenient stop over between London and South Wales or the South West. The cities also act as the perfect base from which to explore the wider region, making them an attractive proposition for the travel trade and their international customers. The region is easily accessible for international visitors via Bristol Airport or the national rail and motorway networks.
Visit West have many years of experience working with the travel trade and forging relationships with key buyers in the industry. We match local businesses with enquiries and relevant contacts as well as proactively promoting the destinations and local product via numerous travel trade events and activity. Our work across several Discover England Fund projects targeted international visitors via the travel trade.
We also target the domestic groups market via relationships with industry buyers, media and contacts as well as selected events where stand-share opportunities can be available.
We produce a printed travel trade guide which is distributed at all relevant events and a dedicated travel trade website for Bath & Bristol will be launched in 2021.
Bath and Bristol are active members of UKinbound and Visit West’s Director of Tourism, Kathryn Davis, is a member of their Board. Bristol was host city for the UKinbound Annual Convention in February 2020. We are also members of ETOA, the European Tour Operators Association.
Get in touch with us if you would like to find out more about working with the travel trade, becoming ‘trade ready’ and welcoming international visitors.
Training Opportunity - Taking England to the World
Dates: A series of three 2-hour online seminars, Tuesday: 11th, 18th and 25th January 2022 between 2pm and 4pm.
Description
In order to support your business in ongoing development and reaching old and new customers alike, VisitEngland in partnership with Visit West, would like to invite you to a virtual training programme.
Developed as part of the government’s £40M Discover England Fund, this course is designed to equip you with the skills and foundations to develop and promote your product for sale in international and domestic markets.
Who is it for?
This session is an adaptation of the ‘Taking England to the World’ programme previously delivered in person in Bristol and Bath. As a result, if you have attended Taking England to the World, you might not benefit as much from these sessions, although there will be new content relating to domestic markets. This training programme is aimed at suppliers from all sectors of the English travel industry – from accommodation to attractions, and from excursions to experiences. Whilst particularly suitable for SMEs, larger organisations are also welcome to attend.
