Overseas visitors stay longer and spend more. Most of our international marketing activity centres around the travel trade where we ensure our region is included in itineraries and therefore bookable for inbound tourists.
International visitors come to our region for leisure, business, study and to visit friends and relatives.
Working with Visit Britain we host international media and influencers to seed awareness and bookings to our region from key markets. We target short-haul markets with easy connectivity to the west of England as well as long-haul markets and audiences who have a propensity to consider a visit.
Top markets include France, Germany, Spain, USA and Australia. Secondary long-haul markets include India and China.
The Visit Bristol website is able to be translated via a google translate function and a French language version is in development. Translated developments are planned for Visit Bath.
As well as highlighting each destination we also promote a ‘twin-cities’ destination product, offering a unique mix of visitor experiences across Bristol and Bath for international visitors.
