Taking place from 3–5 July, this vibrant weekend explores the rich and far-reaching story of The Great American Songbook – from the birth of jazz and blues through to rock ‘n’ roll, Broadway and beyond. Rooted in American culture but shaped by global influences from Africa, Europe and elsewhere, the programme offers a dynamic journey through some of the most influential sounds of the past century.

Each evening presents a distinct musical theme, brought to life by exceptional live performances:

New Orleans – Ragtime, Jazz and Blues
Friday 3 July
The weekend opens in the birthplace of jazz with a lively celebration of ragtime, blues and early jazz. Clare Teal presents internationally acclaimed clarinettist Adrian Cox and his band for an exuberant evening capturing the spirit and energy of New Orleans.

Clare Teal Hits the Road: Coast to Coast USA
Saturday 4 July
Audiences are invited on a musical road trip across America, from Chicago to Los Angeles. Featuring the Clare Teal 5 alongside special guest Tommy Blaize (BBC Strictly Come Dancing), this uplifting evening travels through jazz, swing, country, Latin, rock ‘n’ roll and R&B, celebrating iconic songs and the artists who made them famous.

Broadway – And All That Jazz
Sunday 5 July
The weekend concludes with a dazzling tribute to Broadway. Joined by West End performers Emma Kershaw and Katie Birtill, Clare Teal presents a joyful evening of musical theatre favourites spanning more than a century of song from both sides of the Atlantic.

Set on the terrace lawn, audiences are invited to bring a chair or blanket and settle in for a relaxed summer evening. A limited number of terrace seating tickets are also available. With a bar and BBQ on site, guests can enjoy supper while taking in the stunning views across the Limpley Stoke Valley.

Whether attending a single performance or the full weekend, audiences can expect an engaging celebration of music, history and cultural exchange. A limited number of Weekender tickets are available for those wishing to experience all three evenings.

Further details and tickets can be found via the American Museum & Gardens What’s On page.
