The Redgrave Theatre is proud to announce the launch of its “Buy A Seat” campaign alongside the continued growth of its Youth Theatre programme, as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations in 2026.

For six decades, the Redgrave Theatre has been a home for creativity, storytelling, and unforgettable live performances in Bristol. As it marks this significant milestone, the
theatre is inviting its community to play an active role in shaping its future through its 60th Anniversary fund.

The “Name a Seat campaign” enables individuals to have a plaque on a selected seat within the theatre for three years, whilst supporting the 60th Anniversary Fund. Funds
raised will support essential capital improvements to preserve the historic venue, fund scholarships for young people with a passion for the arts to join Clifton College, and increased community outreach to local schools and charities.

Laura Gammage, Director of Development, Clifton College said: “Our “Name a Seat” campaign is a great way to celebrate 60 years of performance, creativity and community. Whether you’re honouring a loved one, marking a special moment, or simply showing your support for the arts, naming a seat is a meaningful way to become part of the theatre’s story. Your dedication will be seen by audiences for years to come and will help support the Redgrave’s artistic and community work. Thank you for helping us inspire the next generation of performers and audiences.”

As part of its anniversary year, the Redgrave Theatre launched its Youth Theatre programme in January. Following a successful run we are now inviting applications for our second Youth Theatre programme. Designed for young people aged 7-14, the programme provides a welcoming space to explore creativity, build confidence, and develop performance skills.

Weekly sessions encourage collaboration, communication and self-expression, whilst helping to build confidence both on and off stage. The programme supports key life skills including teamwork, problem solving and resilience, giving young people the freedom to experiment, take creative risks and learn through play.

Amy Iles, Youth Theatre Programme Leader said: “Shaping the next generation of performers at such a historic theatre is very exciting. Our young participants are engaging brilliantly, and we’re looking forward to another fantastic term ahead.”

Sue Ellicott, Theatre Manager, said: “As the Redgrave Theatre marks its 60th anniversary, the Youth Theatre is a significant step in reaffirming our commitment to being a space for the community. We are delighted to open our doors to our youngest creative minds so they can ignite a lifelong passion for the performing arts.”

Supporters are invited to sponsor a seat in the theatre, with contributions ranging from £300 to £500. Each sponsored seat will feature a personalised plaque displayed for a minimum of three years. Those who take part will receive: a personalised seat plaque for three years; a commemorative certificate; an invitation to a behind-the-scenes open event; recognition on Clifton College’s website and 60th anniversary publication.
