The limited special edition draws its inspiration directly from The Hall Estate, the Jacobean mansion and gardens that were once home to pioneering engineer Dr Alex Moulton. It was here, in Bradford-on-Avon, that Moulton conceived, developed, and refined the revolutionary small-wheeled bicycle designs that would go on to influence cycle engineering worldwide.
Finished in an exclusive Hall Green, the bicycle features a bespoke engraved stainless-steel badge mounted on the seat tube, alongside gloss black alloy mudguards, a Brooks Honey Brown B17 or B17s leather saddle, and colour-matched ergonomic grips. Each design element has been carefully selected to reflect the architectural character, materials, and understated elegance of The Hall itself.
While the aesthetics reference its historic roots, The Hall Special Edition remains a practical and transportable bicycle, intended for everyday use. Its significance lies not in altered performance, but in its direct connection to the place where Moulton’s distinctive engineering philosophy was formed.
Importantly, a contribution from every bicycle sold will support The Alex Moulton Charitable Trust, helping to preserve The Hall Estate and fund educational and engineering initiatives inspired by Dr Moulton’s legacy.
The Hall Estate, a Grade I listed Jacobean mansion set within seven acres of historic grounds, continues to play an active role in preserving and interpreting the story of innovation, industry, and design associated with the Moulton family and Bradford-on-Avon.
The Hall Special Edition is priced at £2,190 (UK RRP).
