The Gaffe Comedy Club in Bristol has been named as the Best Comedy Venue (West and Wales) in the 2026 Chortle Awards.
After opening just over a year ago, The Gaffe has hosted the likes of James Acaster, Rosie Jones, Mike Wozniak, Jamali Maddix, Stuart Goldsmith, Jayde Adams and Felicity Ward, alongside rising stars on the UK and international comedy circuits, and local talent.
It is the first time a Bristol venue has won the award, which is voted for by audience members. The Gaffe Comedy Club MD and founder, Harry Allmark, said:
“It’s a massive honour to be recognised in the Chortle awards, especially coming just a year after opening. Our mission has always been to create a home for comedy in Bristol, where local talent can develop their acts and audiences can see big names alongside rising stand up stars. Having the community's support like this means a lot to us. We’ve got great things planned for 2026 and beyond, so if you haven’t already discovered the club – now’s the time to get yourself down to The Gaffe for a laugh!”

Located on Wine Street in the city centre, The Gaffe hosts shows multiple nights a week, including club nights every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, solo shows from touring comedians, and cabaret, alternative comedy and themed nights throughout the week.
Bristol legend Jayde Adams - award-winning comedian and TV personality - regularly hosts her show ‘Jayde Adams and Friends’ at The Gaffe, and is a big supporter of the venue. Speaking about the club last year, Jayde said:
“I couldn’t be more excited about the future of comedy in Bristol, and The Gaffe is right at the heart of it.”
