Thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, Bath Assembly Rooms is bringing the power of blossom to Bath this spring with a parade through the city centre on Saturday 18 April to coincide with World Heritage Day.

Working with partners and community groups across Bath, the National Trust is bringing the Festival of Blossom to the city of Bath for the first time. The parade will bring communities together in celebration of spring and will take the joy of blossom to urban streets that don’t have established blossom trees.

This is a pilot year for Blossom in Bath, giving the city and its communities a chance to test some ideas and help shape how the celebrations might grow in the years ahead.

The Museum of East Asian Art and Little Lost Robot are partnering with Bath Assembly Rooms to deliver Blossom in Bath. Help get ready for the parade by attending a creative workshop that will see blossom lanterns and banners made ready to take to the streets of the city on parade day.

Hazel Hatton, Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Bath Assembly Rooms, said: “This is the first year we’ve joined the National Trust Blossom celebrations, and we’re excited to be working with such amazing partners to bring the power of blossom to the centre of Bath. We hope this is just the start of exciting things to come in future years as Bath Assembly Rooms is restored and once more becomes a place for the community of Bath.”

Later in the year, blossom celebrations will continue as blossom trees are planted in green spaces in Bath in partnership with More Trees BANES.  Through the National Trust’s partnership with Twerton and Whiteway Community Network, there will also be more chances for community groups to get creative with blossom inspired workshops as spring moves towards summer.
