Big Team CIC and Bristol Beacon announce The Next Level: 5 Year Celebration, a live music event marking five years of the Next Level artist development programme supporting emerging independent artists in Bristol. The celebration will take place at Lantern Hall, Bristol Beacon on Friday 17 April from 7:00pm to 10:30pm, bringing together alumni artists who have taken part in the programme since its launch.

The event highlights the impact of Next Level on Bristol’s creative music scene, showcasing how the programme has helped artists develop their skills, build industry connections and progress onto professional stages, while bringing together alumni artists for a night of live performances and community celebration.

Performing artists include Badliana, TIA, Hulton, Kwazi, Addi P, Jabani, Laura Dia, Ava Zarate, Rebekah and more - all of which have completed the Next Level programme.

Next Level artist Badliana says: “It feels great to be supported by the scene and to have been introduced to many other amazing creatives. I’m looking forward to the Next Level creative week and of course the big performance on the 17th April. Come down to get a taste of Bristol’s upcoming music scene & catch a vibe, I already know it’s gonna be a great evening.”

Founded in 2022 in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Next Level was created to support emerging independent artists by providing development opportunities, mentorship, and access to professional creative spaces. What began as a one-week artist development programme has since grown into a long-term platform that supports artists beyond the programme itself, championing talent, collaboration, and community across the city.
Jazpa Taylor from Big Team says, “I have been involved in the Next Level programme since its launch, working through Big Team and our partners to support artists across Bristol in establishing sustainable careers in music, while providing the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to build long-term longevity in the industry.
Through our Next Level programme, I have personally seen artists grow in confidence and achieve major milestones, including performing at Glastonbury Festival..”

Owen Parry from Bristol Beacon says “It’s been incredibly rewarding being connected with Next Level, witnessing the positive community that has been built and the inspiring experiences that have taken place. It’s been a pleasure to work with Big Team and all of the wonderful artists over the last 5 years and it’s exciting to see where the next 5 years takes it”

Big Team and Bristol Beacon have worked alongside a network of partners, mentors and industry supporters to shape Next Level over the past five years. Partners including Team Love, Love Saves The Day, Boomtown Fair, Pirate Studios, Hey! What?, Plaster PR, and SWU FM, alongside mentors such as Sam Interface, N.Y.T.A, Ngaio Anyia, GROVE, Javeon, Dread MC, Res One and Eva Lazarus, who have played a key role in providing artists with real-world insight and professional experience.

The Next Level: 5 Year Celebration offers an opportunity to reflect on the programme’s achievements to date, celebrate the artists who have been part of the journey, and look ahead to the next chapter of supporting independent talent and creative pathways in Bristol.
