Mendip Activity Centre is proud to once again sponsor Shipham-based bobsleigh athlete Jens Hullah for the second year, as he competes through the 2026 season, pushing towards qualification for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Jens’ journey began locally at Churchill Secondary School in North Somerset, where he first learned to ski on a school trip to Mendip Activity Centre’s dry ski slope. That early introduction to snowsports sparked a passion for adrenaline-fuelled outdoor activities - a spark that would take him to the World Cup circuit and World Championships just months after joining the GB Bobsleigh programme in 2023.

“I’m very patriotic” says Jens. “I love Great Britain. Since the age of 12, when I saw London 2012, I knew I wanted to have a go at elite sport. That’s where rowing started - and then bobsleigh followed. Now I’m here.”

Competing at the highest level, achieving strong results across the 2024 and 2025 World Cup seasons, his team is currently awaiting confirmation on potential selection for the upcoming Winter Games.

Supporting Jens feels like a natural fit for Mendip. His journey from local slopes to international competition shows how access to outdoor adventure close to home can build confidence, open doors and inspire young people across Somerset to give something new a go.

David Eddins, CEO of Mendip Adventure says: "We’re proud to continue our support of Jens as he competes at the highest level of bobsleigh, showcasing just how far a passion for outdoor adventure can take you”

As the final qualification races approach, Mendip Adventure wishes Jens the very best of luck as he pushed towards the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
