Just 10 months after opening at Wapping Wharf, contemporary French restaurant, Lapin has been named by SquareMeal as one of the UK's Top 100 Restaurants for 2026, taking its place among the most hotly rated dining spots in the country.

Landing 95th place through a combination of expert critic assessments and thousands of votes from the public, Lapin was described as “A welcome addition to Bristol from the team behind BANK in Totterdown”, with judges noting a “Parisian bistro energy, a modern take on classic French cookery, and a solid wine list to match. Underscored by sharp technique and local produce, expect buzzy service, without a hint of chaos.”

Led by restaurateur, Dan O’Regan, and executive chef, Jack Briggs-Horan, Lapin has brought a playful spin on French cuisine to Cargo on Bristol’s historic harbourside, blending Jack’s inventive and irreverent cooking style with a heartfelt celebration of classical French cookery. Also home to one of Bristol’s biggest hitting wine lists – all freely poured throughout the week, with everything available by the glass – Lapin has fast become one of the city’s most in-demand dining destinations.

Dan O’Regan, owner and founder of Lapin, commented: “This is a really special moment for Lapin, and we're honoured to have taken a spot on this prestigious list less than a year after our first plates left the pass. It's not easy to consistently impress both diners and critics, so Jack and I are super proud of the whole team here. We've enjoyed an incredible start to life at Cargo, and are pushing hard to raise the bar further at both restaurants in 2026.”

Lapin is open Tuesday & Wednesday from 5.30pm to 10pm, Thursday to Saturday from 12pm to 3.30pm and 5.30pm to 10pm, and Sunday from 12pm to 8pm. Diners can book via www.lapinbristol.co.uk.
