THE PROSPECT BUILDING - Facilities & Site Manager 
Reporting to: General Manager 
Location: On site at The Prospect Building, Bristol
Salary: £35,000
Working Hours: Monday-Friday, with some show work and weekend work 

Overview 
Responsible for the maintenance and operational readiness of The Prospect Building, 
Bristol. This role focuses on upkeep, infrastructure management, preventative maintenance 
planning and fixing, and ensuring the venue remains safe, functional, and compliant. 

Facility & Site Maintenance:
- Oversee daily maintenance and checks of all facility systems including HVAC, 
electrical, plumbing, lighting, mechanical equipment, structural components, and 
production infrastructure 
- Perform routine inspections of interior and exterior building conditions.
- Schedule and execute preventative maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and 
extend equipment life.
- Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies inventory. 
Implement and manage sign in and out system
- Develop maintenance logs, service schedules, and operational checklists.
- Work with the General Manager and Project Lead to research, assess, and develop 
building upgrade and facility enhancement projects in line with the venue 
development and long-term goals, then coordinate and execute. 
- Coordinate timelines, budgets, and contractor activities for renovation work 
ensuring minimal disruption.

Safety:
- Communication and collaboration with the venue team and key contractors to 
ensure safety processes are embedded into all venue activity, and site safety 
information is clear and up to date. 
- Keep up to date with all surveys/regulations/certifications (e.g. asbestos / FRA) 
- Monitor and maintain fire protection systems, including alarms, extinguishers, 
sprinklers, and emergency signage. 
- Inspect and maintain emergency exits, evacuation routes, and crowd-flow areas.
- Keep accurate safety records and documentation for inspections or permits.

Vendor & Contractor Oversight:
- Source, hire, and manage contractors for specialised repairs (electricians, plumbers, 
structural engineers, etc.) 
- Review work for quality, safety, and compliance with legislation and industry 
standards.
- Maintain positive, cost-effective vendor relationships and negotiate service 
agreements.

Operational Readiness: 
- Ensure the site is prepared for daily use, booking and managing the suppliers/staff 
to make this happen (e.g. cleaners, bins, sanitation, site crew, technical crew)
- Support setup of facility infrastructure when needed (e.g. fencing, signage, 
protective flooring, seating).
- Respond to facility-related issues quickly during operational hours.
- Manage locks, keys, access control, and security systems in coordination with GM 
and AMAAD. 

Budgeting & Resource Management:
- Assist with forecasting and managing the annual facility maintenance budget.
- Management payment of suppliers, site staff and utilities
- Track expenses related to repairs, equipment, and services and ensure your own 
budget lines are not exceeded. 
- Recommend cost-effective solutions and long-term maintenance strategies.
- Manage procurement of supplies, consumables, tools, and spare parts.

REQUIREMENTS:
Essential 
− Proactive, practical, can-do outlook and approach to work 
− 4+ years of experience in facility, site, equipment or building management, 
maintenance, or repairs. 
− Experience maintaining and fixing things (machines, equipment, vehicles) 
− Willingness to be on site, this is not a work from home position! 
− Understanding of equipment, facilities, venues, sites, and ideally events. 
− Hands on attitude to oversee a dynamic environment with daily challenges. 
− Safety conscious and compliance focussed. 
− Ability to communicate with a range of people and work effectively as part of a small 
(but perfectly formed) team 
- Ability to work independently and handle hands-on repairs and DIY
- Organisation, attention to detail, troubleshooting, problem solving, I.T and 
communication skills. 
- Availability for some evenings, weekends, or emergency on-call needs as required

Desirable 
- Familiarity with safety legislation (H&S at work act / CDM preferably but training can 
be provided)
- Experience preferably in an event space, venue, event site, or festival 
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, schematics, and building plans.
- Forklift, picker license.
