Brand new Apres-Ski Fest launched at Mendip Activity Centre

The perfect winter treat!
Mendip Activity Centre is bringing something entirely new to Somerset this winter. Apres-Ski Fest is a brand-new alpine-themed night, designed for recreational skiers and snowboarders, but with a big community twist: live acoustic music and alpine atmosphere inside the Alpine Lounge are completely free for locals to enjoy!

A Successful Friday-Night Adventure
From 6pm, on selected Friday evenings throughout January and February, the artificial dry ski slope is open for recreational-standard skiers and snowboarders to drop in for instructor-led games, friendly competitions, and progression tips. Expect retro outfits, slope-side challenges, and plenty of Mendip magic. Anyone wanting to ski or snowboard simply books their session in advance for £32.

Apres-Ski Fest has already proved a hit in its first week, with the launch night sessions on 16th January selling out in advance, despite wet weather.

Dom Lee, one of Mendip's instructors, says, "The response to Apres-Ski Fest has been brilliant. The slope is full of laughter, friendly competition, and some amazing outfits! One of the best parts has been seeing people who aren't even skiing come along just to enjoy the music and atmosphere. Friends, families, and locals are all mixing together, watching the slope, and having a great time."

Free Apres for Everyone
Inside the Alpine Lounge, the apres action comes alive with free live acoustic sets, alpine-inspired food, mulled wine, ski films, games, and retro outfits. It’s warm, social and open to all, making it the perfect place to unwind after work, meet friends, and soak up the atmosphere while watching the slope light up the hillside.

Mendip Activity Centre is home to Somerset’s only artificial, floodlit ski slope - a unique 165-metre dry slope where beginners can learn to ski or snowboard year-round, and experienced riders can keep their skills sharp in every season.
