This December, Tyntesfield invites visitors to step into a festive fairytale with Once Upon a Christmas Time. From the Welcome Building to the Kitchen Garden, the estate will be transformed into a warm and magical storybook world, through charming decorations and magical storytelling, offering a Christmas experience like no other.

Tyntesfield family Christmas

Visitors will begin their journey in the Welcome Building, where a grand carriage and Tyntesfield’s Welcome Team await to greet them, before heading to the Cow Barn Café, where they can enjoy a hot drink surrounded by Beauty and the Beast-inspired decorations and Christmas treats to savour.

In the Rose Garden Cinderella’s story comes to life while in Tyntesfield House, visitors will encounter a whole host of fairy tales, including the tale of the Wild Swans, a whimsical tea party with the Mad Hatter in the Library and a magnificent beanstalk stretching towards the ceiling in the Hall. Around every corner, more fairytales and festive surprises await.

These scenes are just a glimpse of Tyntesfield’s magical transformation, with over 18 enchanting story-themed installations to explore. Each space has been beautifully reimagined in collaboration with Super Culture working with local artists, schools, and community groups across the South West, bringing beloved fairytales to life through art, performance and creativity.

Fiona Matthews, Creative Director of Super Culture, said:

"Fairy tales are part of folk literature, shaped and passed down by communities over generations, and this Christmas we are delighted that almost 500 people from across North Somerset have helped to create some special festive stories at Tyntesfield.

“With support from partners including University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, Refugees Welcome North Somerset, Weston College and Alliance Homes, our storytelling net has been cast far and wide.

“Local artists have worked with these communities - many visiting Tyntesfield for the first time - to weave their ideas into something truly golden. We hope you enjoy experiencing the many diverse voices, of all ages and backgrounds, that have come together to create something heartfelt at Tyntesfield this Christmas.”

But the holidays aren’t just for storybook heroes – visitors can head to the Chapel Courtyard and visit the Villains Village, where they can enjoy a warming mulled wine and perhaps some pop-up carol singing. This year’s celebrations will also offer festive chapel concerts, craft workshops and children’s trails.

With stories brought to life both inside the house and across the estate grounds, visitors can look forward to a full day of magic and merriment for all ages.

Paula James, Visitor Operations and Experience Manager at Tyntesfield, said:

“We’ve been delighted to collaborate once again with Super Culture and Vesta Productions for Christmas 2025. Working with them, and in partnership with our local communities, is what the festive season is all about.

Together, we’ve reimagined Tyntesfield into a magical fairytale wonderland, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to share it with us.”

Normal admission applies (free for National Trust members), including the house. Some events may have an additional charge. Once Upon A Christmas Time is on now, until 4 January 2026.
