Over the Christmas holidays, Prior Park Landscape Garden will see the return of last year’s popular Christmas trail. The trail depicts the carol The Twelve Days of Christmas through twelve stations dotted around the garden.

Prior Park Landscape Garden is a National Trust garden in Bath, home to one of only four Palladian bridges in the world. Set in a sweeping valley above the city, it once belonged to local entrepreneur Ralph Allen and was created with advice from ‘Capability’ Brown and the poet Alexander Pope.
Featuring interpretations from each line of The Twelve Days of Christmas carol, this trail leads visitors around the garden to discover both the garden itself and the creative depictions of the carol. From five gold rings on the Palladian bridge to swans-a-swimming on the serpentine, it is a festive journey through the garden for adults and children alike.

Rachel Beaumont, Senior Visitor Experience Officer, said, “We’re excited to be bringing back this trail this year. Visitors will see familiar favourites from last year as well as a new twist on others, with some locations changing, and many beautifully made pieces to discover. Our fantastic team of creative crafting volunteers have been working for months to bring this trail to life once more.”
The Tea Cabin, situated at the bottom end of the garden, will be stocked with seasonal treats, including mince pies, Christmas cake and hot chocolate. These can be enjoyed in the outdoor seating or on the go.
The trail is free with standard admission, running every day of the Christmas holidays 20 December - 4 January (closed 24 and 25 December). Opening times 10am-4pm (last entry 3pm). There is no parking on site, apart from limited accessible parking, which can be pre-booked.
