Super Furry Animals’ return to the city for Bristol Sounds, their first since playing the O2 Academy in December 2016.
The first to be announced as support for Super Furry Animals at Bristol Sounds, which sees legendary and emerging artists take over the iconic Bristol Harbourside over the traditional Glastonbury weekend, is pioneering Welsh/Cornish art-pop singer-songwriter, Gwenno. Nominated for the Welsh Music Prize in 2015 for her debut solo album Y Dydd Olaf and shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in 2022 for her third album, Tresor, Gwenno’s pioneering approach to multi-lingual songwriting has continued into this year’s reflective Utopia album, released in July on Heavenly Recordings.
The Bristol Sounds’ 2026 announced line-up also includes The Kooks, celebrating 20 years of their era-defining album, Inside In/Inside Out, two sold out nights with The Streets performing A Grand Don’t Come For Free in full and Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD). The full concert series takes place from June 23rd - 28th 2026, and tickets can be found at: https://bristolsounds.seetickets.com/tour/bristol-sounds
