Summary of position:
Visit West is the Local Visitor Economy Partnership for the West of England. Operating on a not-for-profit basis, it’s the lead organisation for developing and promoting the regions Visitor Economy. It delivers a range of services and benefits to the tourism, hospitality and leisure industry through its membership programme. The Membership Manager will be an advocate and champion for the Visitor Economy, working closely with businesses across the West of England to promote Visit West’s membership offer. This will include working with prospective and current members, via personal face – face visits, email and phone calls.
The Membership Manager is responsible for generating new leads, managing the process for new members joining and the first point of contact for member enquiries.
The post holder will support a programme of member events and contribute to the development of Visit West membership programme, ensuring it remains current and continues to offer maximum value.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a good initiative for sales. A positive ‘can do’ attitude is essential, along with a genuine interest in the Visitor Economy and the businesses who make up this exciting sector.
The ideal candidate will be a fast learner and keen to develop their knowledge of sales and marketing within a tourism environment.
The post holder will need to be organised and efficient. A working knowledge of programmes such as MS Office and experience in using CRM systems is important.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. To be the first point of contact for all member enquiries and correspondence.
2. To regularly contact new and established members to ensure that the opportunities provided through membership are being maximised.
3. To identify new prospects and membership opportunities.
4. To manage the administration process for new members.
5. To support the development of a programme of member events.
6. To ensure the CRM is maintained to a high standard.
7. To promote Visit West campaigns and advertising opportunities to members.
Personal Specification:
Essential
Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
Ability to contribute effectively to group activity
A team player who is also self-motivated and happy to work on individual projects
Friendly and enthusiastic with good initiative
Competent using MS Office
Interested in working in a dynamic fast-paced environment
Desirable
Experience of working within the travel, tourism or hospitality sectors
Experience using a CRM system to input, extract and analyse data.
Experience working within a sales team and a proven track record of achieving sales targets
Good knowledge of the visitor economy in the West of England
