One of the city’s most impressive harbourside dining locations has this month launched a brand new seasonal autumn/winter menu, bringing diners exceptional brasserie style food alongside stunning waterfront views. The River Grille, situated inside The Bristol hotel, has long attracted diners from both Bristol and beyond, and this month they’ve launched a new lunch and dinner menu, showcasing the best of seasonal, local produce.

Created by The River Grille’s Executive Head Chef Pawel Mikolajczewski, who has been at the helm of the kitchen brigade for over a decade, the menu celebrates seasonal flavours, which can be seen in dishes such as the Pan-Seared Kingfisher Brixham Scallops with Butternut Squash and a Parma ham crisp, as well as using produce from local Bristol and West Country suppliers, such as prime cuts of steak from Buxton Butchers, who are based in Winterbourne. The dishes combine inspiration from both British and French cuisine, as well as offering an array of exciting vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.

Speaking about the new menu Head Chef Pawel Mikolajczewski said:

“Autumn is definitely my favourite season for produce, with a wealth of British ingredients such as mushrooms, chard and beetroot, so everyone on the team was particularly excited about creating this menu, as it offers an opportunity to really showcase these ingredients at their best.

“We always like to keep the menu in our traditional Brasserie style, but bringing our own signature twists to classic French dishes, as well as using produce from some of our fantastic local suppliers such as Buxton Butchers. My favourite dish on the menu has to be the Duo of Duck; Confit leg & half breast a l’orange, Parmesan gnocchi, seasonal greens and a duck jus!”

The full menu is available for evening diners, with a lighter version on offer at lunchtime, and The River Grille also offers a special Pre-Theatre offer of two courses for just £30 between 4:30 - 6:30pm. As well as offering stunning views across the harbourside from their impressive floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant also boasts live entertainment from their resident pianists on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Bristol hotel Food and Beverage Manager, Brian Milne said about the new menu:

“We’re thrilled to be launching our new seasonal menu - we think it might be one of our best yet! We recently changed things up at The River Grille to create more of a laid-back yet refined atmosphere, whilst still serving the same exceptional quality food and wines, and this new menu is the perfect reflection of that.

“Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite to eat before a show or enjoying a leisurely harbourside dinner, we want to bring excellent food, service and atmosphere to everyone’s experience. I’m a big fan of the Cider Braised Pork Belly with Boulangère potatoes, red cabbage, caramelised apple and red wine jus, but I also think our steaks are amongst the best in the city!”

The River Grille is open Monday to Saturday for lunch from 12:30pm - 5:00pm, 5:00pm - 9:30pm for dinner from Sunday to Thursday and 5:00pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday. The £30 Pre-Theatre deal is available Monday - Sunday, 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
