Bandook Bath is celebrating its sixth year of opening and all because of its patrons and its loyal and friendly team, who have made it into a vibrant, thoroughly inviting and unmissable foodie hot-spot in the city.

As if proof were needed to vouch for its esteemed standing, Bandook has just added some new dishes to already uplifting a la carte menu with delicious goodness! Amongst these latest entries, Bombay Style Mix Bhajiya (Onion, spinach, red & yellow pepper and potato mix coated in gram flour); Mutton Pepper Fry (shredded mutton, onion, pepper, coconut shavings, chilli tossed in the pan in chilli and black pepper); Mangalorean Prawn Gassi (Tiger prawns cooked in a tangy sauce using coconut milk, fennel seeds, tamarind, tomato, onions); and Keema Pilau.

Bandook has recently been featured in the national media and The Telegraph for offering one of the top 10 best brunches in Bath, and you thought it just offered the best lunch and dinner!  From the Bombay Breakfast to Breakfast Kolkata Rolls and a choice of South Indian Uttapams, with plenty of vegan selections, this is a breakfast you’ll not want to miss.

Of course, ‘tis the season to be merry as the jingle of Christmas is in the air and our festive Indian Yuletide is not only different, but it’s a treat no one will want to miss with a true feast of feasts!

Christmas at Bandook

Running from Monday 17 November to Wednesday 24 December, at just £40 per person (minimum of 2 people), it’s an ecstatic bullseye of flavoursome dish after dish: commence with the Small Plates and indulge in the likes of Anjeer Chaat, Chicken Lollipop and Roasted Beetroot Tikki. For the mains, the Festive Meat Platter aside, an undeniable showstopper is the Turkey Leg Biryani (Turkey leg roasted, saffron rice, aromatic spices, caramelised onions), accompanied by such Indian classics as Lamb Kolhapuri and Methi Murgh, with Sides including, Daal Makhani, Roasted Bombay Potatoes, Jeera Rice and a Mixed Bread Basket.

The Christmas menu options will also include vegetarian and vegan menus.

No Christmas would be complete without sweet notes and we have aplenty: from the unmissably bready and creamy Crimbo Shahi Tukda to an aromatic Cardamom Creme Brulee and more. There’s even a Festive Tipple Menu to boot!

Speaking of the merry month, Bandook will be hosted by Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel on Tuesday 9 December for a special Christmas Supperclub with its delicious seasonal Indian cooking.

It’s a plentiful crop of news at Bandook so last but not least, as you’ll have seen from our recent social media post, the very exciting bulletin is that we are opening a brand-new site come early New Year – Bandook Cheltenham. Yes, the pretty, Regency town will be hosting the lovely new Bandook so keep watching out for further information.

“This is an exhilarating time for us”, says Moe Rahman, the ever-dynamic proprietor of Bandook. “We have a very successful brand name in the South West for casual Indian dining, but I also always want to keep thriving and keep elevating to new heights with great food, fabulous drinks, genial service and warm and welcoming environs.”
