About the survey
Visit West are running two visitor surveys via VisitBristol and VisitBath channel to better understand visitor profiles, motivations, experiences, and satisfaction for visitors to Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and the region as a whole.
These surveys are about leisure trips, business trips or visiting friends & family that have been taken in the past year. This can include day trips, holidays, short breaks, attending a conference or other business-related event.
Respondents have the option at the end to be entered into a quarterly prize draw to win a £50 Bath Gift Card or £50 Love Bristol Gift Card.
This research is being conducted on behalf of Visit West, working in partnership with VisitBritain, who are carrying out the research across the country. Their privacy policy can be viewed here. Please be assured all responses are anonymous and confidential.

QR Code Option
To make it even easier for visitors to access the survey, we have generated a QR code to the survey that you can share on your channels if you’d prefer.
Tips for use:
- Add QR codes to social channels, digital screens, e-newsletters or your website.
- Include a short call-to-action e.g. “Tell us about your visit to the Bristol area / the Bath area for a chance to win!” Scan this QR code to complete a quick survey.” or see example posts.
- The QR code is included in the asset folder but can be sent separately if needed. Just email marketing@visitwest.co.uk
Other ideas and suggestions
As well as digital options above, below are some other suggestions for ways to promote participation of the survey.
- Display posters or counter cards with QR codes
- Add flyers in welcome packs or hotel rooms
- Ask front-line staff to encourage participation (“You can scan this to share your thoughts about your visit!”)
Share with us
Let us know where and how you’ve shared the survey, whether it’s on your website, social media, newsletters, or in person with visitors.
This helps us:
- Track responses and understand which channels and partners are driving engagement.
- Acknowledge and thank you for your support in helping us reach a wider audience.
- Share results and insights with you once the research is complete, to further our understanding of visitors to the region.
Please email a quick summary (and links, if available) to marketing@visitwest.co.uk with the subject line “Visitor Survey – Shared by [Your Business Name]”.
If you’re using your unique tracking links or QR codes, we’ll also be able to see some stats attributed to your activity but hearing from you directly ensures we can fully recognise your involvement.
Thank you so much to help us gather stronger insights and continue to grow tourism across Bristol, Bath and the West of England.
