The House of Frankenstein in Bath was delighted when it was presented with a new treasure to its ever-growing collection, and straight from the red carpet. Wayne Sheridan, who visited the museum over the summer, recently surprised staff with a remarkable donation: an official poster from the new Frankenstein film, signed by none other than director Guillermo del Toro and lead actors Jacob Elordi (The Creature) and Oscar Isaac (Dr. Frankenstein).

What makes the piece even more special? It was signed at the London Film Festival during the film’s world premiere, with del Toro himself adding a personal touch, inscribing it: “To Bath.”
“We were thrilled,” said museum director Chris Harris. “This was a completely unexpected and very generous gesture from Wayne, who went to some lengths to secure the poster. To have something signed by such an iconic filmmaker, and for him to acknowledge Bath directly, is really touching.”
The addition feels particularly fitting, as Bath holds a unique place in Frankenstein’s history. It was here, in 1816–1817, that Mary Shelley wrote much of her groundbreaking novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, giving the city a legitimate claim as the birthplace of Frankenstein.
The signed poster is now on display and can be viewed as part of the regular museum experience, which already features rare memorabilia, vintage posters, and behind-the-scenes artefacts from Frankenstein adaptations over the decades.
The House of Frankenstein, located on Gay Street, has quickly become one of the city’s most intriguing attractions, blending gothic history with immersive storytelling.
“We’re so grateful to Wayne,” added Harris. “It’s a testament to how deeply people connect with this story, and with our museum. This donation will be enjoyed by thousands of visitors for years to come.”
