Longleat in Wiltshire has been named as having been one of the happiest places in the world to be during summer 2025.

The British Happy Holidays Index published by AttractionTickets.com analysed six data points to find out where the happiest memories were made.

Longleat was in the top 20 along with Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Universal Orlando Resort, Niagara Falls in Canada and Times Square in New York.

Oliver Brendon, CEO of AttractionTickets.com, explained: “This index shows that happiness on holiday comes from a combination of factors. While sunshine plays a role, it’s the emotional resonance of places that truly makes them unforgettable.”

Among the factors considered were glowing reviews with words like happy, perfect and magic.

Simon Askew, Chief Operating Officer at the Wiltshire attraction, said: “This is one of the best accolades we could get; giving families the opportunity to make special memories which last a lifetime is key to what we do, and our teams go above and beyond to ensure guests have the best possible day out.

Scott Ashman, Head of Operations, said: “Our teams love sharing with guests their knowledge whether it’s about the history of Longleat, the animals or simply ensuring people are able to spend quality time with their family and friends by providing information as they need it whether that’s digitally or in person.”

Last month the attraction was recognised as among the top 10 per cent of things to do around the globe on Tripadvisor when it received a Travellers’ Choice Awards for 2025 from the platform.

Scott said: “We consistently receive feedback that we have created unforgettable days out for people and comments in our surveys recognise the incredible value for money our day ticket is as it includes all the main attractions on site with free parking too.

“We also include our event activities within the ticket; the only additional small fees are for animal feeding but where else can you feed a giraffe, lorikeet or sea lion for a couple of pounds?”

Longleat also offers upgrades for close encounters with animals bringing dreams to life for many; the VIP experiences also include day tickets.
