Autumn has officially landed and with it comes the return of one of the South West’s most loved seasonal traditions: the Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch. This year the experience is bigger, brighter and split into two spectacular events: the family-friendly Pumpkin Patch Days, opening from 27th September and the atmospheric Pumpkin Patch Nights, starting from 3rd October. Visitors can enjoy a crisp autumn day hunting for the perfect pumpkin or soak up the twinkling magic of the patch after dark, Avon Valley Pumpkin Patch promises an unforgettable seasonal adventure. From the last weekend of September and running throughout October.

Pumpkin Patch Days

Throughout October, Avon Valley’s authentic ‘pick your own’ patch will be bursting with thousands of pumpkins in every colour, shape and size imaginable. From towering orange giants to tiny gourds that fit in the palm of your hand, there’s a pumpkin for every taste and every photo opportunity.  Avon Valley invites guests to pick up a wheelbarrow, explore the fields and savour the experience of finding their favourite pumpkins.

Pumpkin picking is only the beginning - the patch buzzes with seasonal entertainment including roaming characters and fiery performances that delight the crowds throughout the day. Visitors can try their hand at quirky autumn games like apple cannons, pumpkin paintball and slingshots, or test their skills at fairground rides from dodgems to mini cars and the Sizzler ride. For those in search of something cosier, the pop-up pub, The Pumpkin & Firkin, serves warming drinks, while street food stalls tempt with pizzas, marshmallow toasting and indulgent seasonal treats.

Avon Valley is proudly dog friendly, welcoming canine companions to join in the experience, whether dressed as a pumpkin, ghost, or skeleton, ensuring they are a memorable part of the visit.

Pumpkin Patch Nights

As the sun goes down, Avon Valley takes on an entirely different personality. The Pumpkin Patch Nights, running from Friday 3rd October until Friday 31st October, transform the fields into a glowing wonderland of fairy lights, lanterns and illuminated pumpkins, creating an atmosphere that is both enchanting and unforgettable. Visitors can wander the patch under starlit glow, enjoy the sounds of live music drifting through the evening air and tuck into a feast of street food from local traders.

With cosy corners, Instagram-worthy backdrops at every turn, and an unrivalled autumn atmosphere, Avon Valley’s Pumpkin Patch Nights set the scene for unforgettable evenings. Whether it’s a date night with a difference, a mates’ night out or an atmospheric family adventure, the experience is relaxed yet buzzing, magical yet intimate. Every corner of the patch glows with colour, offering endless photo opportunities and memories that will last long after the pumpkins have been carved.

Doug Douglas, Owner of Avon Valley Adventure Park, said: “Our Pumpkin Patch has really grown into a much-loved part of autumn here in the South West and we love seeing people return year after year. Whether it’s families enjoying the daytime buzz, friends soaking up the atmosphere after dark, or couples looking for the perfect date night, the patch has a way of bringing people together to create special memories. From picking that perfect pumpkin to grabbing a drink at The Pumpkin & Firkin, it’s all about enjoying the season in your own way.”

FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park

For guests who prefer their fear a little more filtered, the park also offers the AtmosFEAR Pass. where visitors can still soak up the atmosphere, enjoy the food, drink and shows, but dodge the attractions (and the nightmares).
