This Christmas, star of stage and screen Tristan Gemmill (Coronation Street, Casualty, The Bodyguard) will don the infamous hook and sail to Neverland as the fearsome Captain Hook in this year’s pantomime spectacular, The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook.

Appearing alongside Tristan will be Bath favourite Jon Monie as Smee and Nick Jnr’s Holly Atterton as Tinker Bell. Presented by UK Productions, the traditional show will appear at the Theatre Royal Bath from Thursday 11 December to Sunday 11 January. Joining the previously announced cast will be Sarah Jane Buckley in the roles of Ethel Mermaid/Mrs Darling and Marcus J Foreman as Peter Pan. This year’s show is set to dazzle more than ever. Audiences can expect gravity-defying flying scenes, stunning choreography, and fabulous special effects, all bringing Neverland to life.

Tristan Gemmill – set to star as the iconic panto baddie Captain Hook – is best known for his long-running role as the beleaguered Bistro owner Robert Preston in Coronation Street and before that as Dr. Adam Trueman in BBC’s flagship medical drama Casualty from 2007-2011. 

His many other TV credits include The Crown, London’s Burning, The Bill, Poirot, Atlantis, Strictly Confidential, Cape Wrath, Where The Heart Is, Grass, Death in Paradise, and Call the Midwife. Tristan’s film credits include The Jacket, with Keira Knightley and Adrian Brody; Flying Blind opposite Helen McCrory; the spoof comedy Gladiatress, with the team behind Smack The Pony; the Biblical epic The Gospel of John, and The Adventurer: The Curse of The Midas Box, with Michael Sheen and Sam Neill. Tristan’s many appearances in the West End include the title role in The Bodyguard opposite Beverly Knight and Alexandra Burke, for which he received rave reviews. Other West End credits include Rope, Dangerous Corner and Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell. Further theatrical highlights include playing Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire for Theatre Clwyd, playing Hotspur in Chimes At Midnight for Chichester Festival Theatre, with Simon Callow as Falstaff, and The Dauphin in Henry V for the Royal Shakespeare Company, opposite Michael Sheen’s Henry.

Jon Monie, who has also written this year’s pantomime, stars as the side-splitting Smee. Jon first appeared in Bath’s celebrated pantomimes in 1996. This year will be his 23rd Christmas season at the Theatre Royal, with over 1,250 performances and counting! His roles include Wishee Washee in Aladdin (2007, 2010, 2016 & 2022); Smee in Peter Pan (2005 & 2013); Ugly Sister in Cinderella (2006); Simple Simon in Jack and the Beanstalk (2008 & 2015); Silly Billy/Lester the Jester in Sleeping Beauty (2009 & 2023); Idle Jack in Dick Whittington (2004 & 2011); Muddles in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (2012, 2017 & 2024); Louis La Plonk in Beauty and The Beast (2019), and Buttons in Cinderella (2014 & 2021). An award-winning pantomime writer, his version of Beauty and The Beast won Best Script at The Great British Pantomime Awards in 2019.

Jon’s other writing credits include Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella, all for UK Productions; The Little Mermaid for Butlins; Jack and the Beanstalk for Horsham’s Capitol Theatre; Santa’s Magical Gift, The Gingerbread Boy, The Dinosaur That Couldn’t Roar, To the Moon and Back! and Captain Birdbrain’s Birthday, all for Sam Bradshaw Productions; Slapstick! (in collaboration with Sue Curtis); Absolute Pantomonium!; additional material for Friends! The Musical Parody, and lyrics for Menopause the Musical 2. He is currently writing lyrics for a new musical alongside adapting a David Walliams book for a UK tour in 2026. Jon’s many theatre and TV acting credits include Slapstick! (Bath Comedy Festival); The 39 Steps (Eastbourne Theatres); Moominvalley (Sky); The Nevers (HBO); Showtrial and The Outlaws (both BBC), and Bridgerton (Netflix). Jon regularly performs with Instant Wit, the South West’s premier comedy improvisation company.

Best known for her work with pop group Go! Go! Go!, as seen on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr Channel, Holly Atterton is set to sparkle as Tinker Bell, reprising the role after performances in Mansfield and Bournemouth. With Go!Go!Go!, Holly achieved a Top 75 album (Radio Go!Go!Go!) and completed two successful West End runs and a UK tour, culminating in a sell-out concert at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. Holly is a versatile vocalist, who can turn her hand to many styles, from musical theatre to pop and rock. Notable stage roles include Meat in We Will Rock You and Sophie in Mamma Mia (both Tallink Cruises), and Columbia in the European tour of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show (BB Promotions). Most recently, Holly debuted the role of Gemima in The Zoo Groove Rangers, for Jammy Creative Studios, and tours regularly with Jammy’s pop/rock trio Steampunk Boogie

Well known to Bath audiences, Sarah Jane Buckley returns to the Theatre Royal in the roles of Ethel Mermaid/Mrs Darling after delighting Bath audiences as Fairy Snowfall in 2023/2024 pantomime, Sleeping Beauty. Her many stage credits also include appearances at the Theatre Royal as Mrs Lyons in Blood Brothers (2018 and 2023) and starring as Annie in Calendar Girls: The Musical (2019). Sarah Jane Buckley is known on television as Kathy Barnes in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, a role she played from 2005 to 2017. Her many stage credits include playing the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Slice of Saturday Night, Elvis the Musical, Twist and Shout, Dancing in the Street, Popstars The Musical and many more touring productions. She has also appeared in numerous pantomimes and was one half of the award-winning cabaret duo The Polka Dots.

Appearing as Peter Pan is Marcus J Foreman, who returns to the role after two pantomime seasons at the Kenneth Moore Theatre and Weymouth Pavilion. His theatre credits include: Chip in On the Town - Workshop (Georgie Rankcom Productions); Morris in Kensingtons Bottom (New Wimbledon Theatre, Studio); Daz in Nul Points! (Union Theatre, London); Ollie in Alright B*tches! (Above the Stag, London); GATSBY (Southwark Playhouse, London); alternate Doctor C in Boy Toy (Above the Stag, London); George & Ensemble in Top Hat (Upstairs at the Gatehouse, London); Mack and Mabel (Hackney Empire, London), LEGEND: A Musical - Workshop, (Theatre Royal, Stratford East London); Wish List - Concert (Union Theatre, London); Soho Songs (Crazy Coqs, Zédels); West End Women (Dartford Orchard Theatre)and The Wizard of Oz (Birmingham Rep). Marcus recently developed his new play as part of the Birmingham Hippodromes PlaySpace and the development of a new untitled musical at The Young Vic.

The cast includes comedy acrobats The Nitwits who will perform as the hilarious bumbling pirate crew, with dancers from The Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance returning to the Theatre Royal stage once again, with further casting to be announced.

The production is directed by Charlotte Peters, with choreography by Jon Reynolds and musical direction by Joshua Newport. One of the country’s leading producers of musical theatre and pantomime both nationally and internationally, Martin Dodd’s UK Productions return to Bath this festive season following last year’s acclaimed production of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, to present their 28th pantomime at the Theatre Royal Bath.
