The Spirit of Bristol, the gin brand created by award-winning distiller Pete Lumber, is now being served in all Flight Club and Electric Shuffle venues across the UK, marking its most significant step yet from a Bristol-born brand to a nationally recognised name.

The brand has also landed at Bristol Airport, with a gin from its range now available at Alembic - a premium destination for Mediterranean-inspired small plates and locally-sourced drinks, making it the perfect launchpad for showcasing Bristol’s finest spirits to travellers from around the world.

This national expansion builds on an extraordinary launch that’s seen the gin embraced by some of Bristol’s most iconic bars, restaurants and independents. Since launching in late 2024, The Spirit of Bristol has become a fixture in more than 80 venues across the city and wider South West, including Pony Chew Valley, Arnolfini, Little French, Nadu, KASK, The Barley Mow, Nutmeg, Bristol Beer Factory and Poco.

It’s also stocked by leading bottle shops such as Spirited, Corks and Grape & Grind - and is now the chosen spirit of Savills Bristol, a partnership that reflects its growing appeal across lifestyle, hospitality and corporate settings alike.

That local momentum is now being mirrored by national recognition. Two of the brand’s expressions, Clifton Royale and Harbourside, were each awarded Gold at the 2025 World Gin Awards, standing out against entries from across the globe.

Created and distilled in Avonmouth using sustainable, low-waste production methods and ethically-sourced botanicals, each of the brand’s four gins is inspired by a different part of the city.

The lineup includes the sharply aromatic London Dry, the floral Clifton Royale, spice-forward Hotwells and bold, navy-strength Harbourside. Designed for versatility, the gins can be served in classic cocktails or sipped neat - and feature striking bottles that celebrate Bristol’s iconic visuals, from the Suspension Bridge to harbourside cranes and hot air balloons.

The Spirit of Bristol Gin

The Spirit of Bristol also made its mark at the 2025 Bristol Harbour Festival as the official house pour.

The national rollout is the realisation of a long-held ambition for founder Pete Lumber, who returned to his hometown with a vision to create a brand that reflects the city’s creativity and contradictions - and bring that story to a wider audience.

“It’s been overwhelming, honestly,” says Lumber. “We’ve gone from planning and tastings to seeing the gin poured in major venues across the UK. But the support from Bristol’s hospitality scene has meant the most - they’ve really championed what we’re doing and that’s something I’ll always be grateful for.”

With new partnerships, festival activations, airport visibility and public tasting events planned for 2026, The Spirit of Bristol is quickly becoming one of the UK’s fastest-rising gin brands - both at home and far beyond.
