Bristol Airport has launched an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the provision of a premium and fully licensed taxi and private hire service for both customers and staff.

The Airport can offer a premium taxi office location, which is close to the terminal and Public Transport Interchange, as well as offering advertising support. The contract is for five years, with the potential to extend by a further two years.

Bristol Airport is seeking one operator to provide a 24/7 service to and from the Airport. As part of our sustainability strategy, it’s essential that the fleet of vehicles are less than three-and-a-half years old and 75% of the fleet are hybrid or electric from the beginning of the contract and at least 25% are fully electric by the end of 2025. A high standard of cleanliness, a first-class level of customer service and consistent branding across all vehicles is also extremely important.

The Airport is currently going through a £400m upgrade, which included the construction of the £60m Public Transport Interchange and car park, now one of our region’s largest coach and bus interchanges. Now enabling 10.6 million customers each year to visit places for leisure and business travel, as well as connect with family and friends. Meanwhile, the Airport provides a gateway for inbound visitors to explore the South West, Cotswolds and South Wales. It’s expected passenger growth and demand for air travel will reach 12 million passengers in the coming years.

Rupert Lawrie, Commercial Director, Bristol Airport said:

“We are looking forward to hearing from businesses who would like to tender for our private hire taxi service at such an exciting time. We welcome applications from all companies that offer an extremely high level of customer comfort and service and who also operate with sustainability at the forefront of their business. A clean and efficient fleet of vehicles is paramount.”
