Families can enjoy Halloweek at Sudeley Castle by stepping into a world of autumn enchantment, where magic weaves through every garden path and historic corner.
From Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November, families are invited to embark on a pumpkin trail across the castle grounds and enjoy a seasonal adventure filled with mystery, discovery and delight.
Visitors will follow their trail map, exploring Sudeley’s secret nooks and crannies to uncover hidden pumpkins with magical witches’ marks, tucked away in the most unexpected places. From the formal beauty of the Queen’s Garden to the ancient charm of the Tithe Barn and Mulberry Lawn, each stop on the trail reveals new autumnal hues and surprises. Those who complete the trail will be rewarded with a Halloween treat. Families are invited to wrap up warm, bring a sense of adventure and let the castle cast its autumn spell.
On Halloween (Friday 31st October) from 10am – 4pm, journey back in time and uncover the darker side of history with Tudor All Hallow’s Eve, a hauntingly immersive experience set within the ancient walls of Sudeley Castle. Visitors are encouraged to step into the shadowy world of the Tudors and meet the castle’s resident ghosts, who emerge from the mists of time to share spine-chilling tales of hauntings and historic horrors that once echoed through these halls. Discover the eerie customs of All Hallows’ Eve in Tudor times, and learn how superstition, ceremony, and fear shaped the season of the dead.
Those who dare can expect ghostly encounters, grotesque stories, and a glimpse into the macabre traditions of the past. From curious historians to brave-hearted families, this atmospheric event promises thrills, chills, and a touch of Tudor mischief.
Fancy Dress costumes are warmly encouraged to add to the Halloween fun! Both the Pumpkin Trail and Tudor Halloween events are included within general admission.
Autumn is a truly special time to visit the gardens of Sudeley Castle. Crimson vines cover centuries-old stone walls of the Tithe Barn, while misty mornings awaken the grounds and gardens in a hush of amber light and woodland wonder. Strolling beneath archways of flame-hued foliage, visitors are transported into a realm where history dances with nature’s most spellbinding season.
After a day of spooky adventures and Halloween magic, Sudeley’s epic play fort is the perfect finale where little knights and witches can conquer the 10-piece assault course, zoom down slides, and soar on the zipline. Set within a castle-themed fortress, it’s a thrilling space for kids to let off steam while parents soak up the festive fun and enjoy a warming beverage or special ice-scream Halloween themed milkshake from the Pavillion café.
