Award-winning local theatre company Bath Light Operatic Group is set to return to the Theatre Royal Bath, this time to present the delightfully macabre The Addams Family - a new musical, from Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 September. The company includes a powerhouse ensemble of more than 35 local performers, accompanied by a live orchestra. Book is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.

Wednesday shocks her unconventional family by falling in love with a seemingly normal young man from a ‘respectable’ family. As the two families come together for a dinner, the clash of their contrasting lifestyles leads to a series of unexpected twists. But even amidst the chaos, the Addams Family comes to discover the true meaning of love and acceptance.

Award-winning local actor Geoff White will lead the company as the suavely devoted Gomez Addams, opposite Hannah Graham as the glamourous and mysterious Morticia Addams with Sophie Baxter performing the iconic role of Wednesday Addams.

Following last year’s staging of My Fair Lady and their recent critically acclaimed productions of Oliver!, Mack & Mabel, Shrek The Musical and Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Bath Light Operatic Group (BLOG) make a welcome return to the Theatre Royal Bath. Under the skilled direction of Tristan Carter, and with choreography by Alison Price, the spooky score will be performed by a ten-piece live orchestra led by Musical Director Matthew Finch.

Musical Director Matthew Finch has worked with Bath Light Operatic Group since 1997, first taking on the role as their Musical Director in 1999. He has worked recently on BLOG’s productions of My Fair Lady in 2024, Oliver! in 2023, Mack & Mabel in 2022, Shrek The Musical in 2019, 42nd Street in 2018, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in 2017, Annie in 2016, Sister Act in 2015 and Jesus Christ Superstar in 2014 - all at Bath’s Theatre Royal.

Bath Light Operatic Group was founded in 1948 and first performed at the Theatre Royal Bath in 1956 when they staged The Geisha. One of the most acclaimed amateur companies in the region with a rich history of producing high-quality musical theatre, the group has achieved much critical success. Recent accolades include winning Bristol Post Rose Bowl Awards for their 2022 production of Mack & Mabel and their 2017 production of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, both staged at the Theatre Royal Bath.
