The leading sporting and events venue in the South West will welcome England for the third time following a record crowd for a home Six Nations game away from Allianz Stadium of 19,705 in March 2024, also against Wales.
Ashton Gate is a well-established international sporting stadium and next month will host two quarter-finals and both semi-finals of the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
The Red Roses, who opened their campaign with a 69-7 win over the USA in Sunderland last Friday, would play their quarter-final match at Ashton Gate on 13 or 14 September should they progress to the knockout stages.

Bristol Bears’ 74-cap Red Roses prop Sarah Bern said: “It’s always a fantastic occasion when we play at Ashton Gate, with a real carnival atmosphere.
“The record crowd in 2024 was a testament to how much Bristol and the South West loves its rugby.
“The interest in women’s rugby and sport has never been greater and we are looking forward to coming back to Bristol next April.”
Ashton Gate Chief Operating Officer Ross Wormald said: “We have a long-standing and strong relationship with the Rugby Football Union and are delighted to welcome the Red Roses against Wales for a third time.
“We attracted a record crowd 15 months ago and, following the World Cup games we are hosting, there will be even greater appetite to watch international women’s rugby at Ashton Gate.”
