Marketing and Communications Officer – Vacancy

John Wesley’s New Room, Bristol is looking for a dynamic, creative, and experienced individual to implement effective marketing strategies that will raise and maintain the heritage site’s profile as a must-see attraction and community space in Bristol. John Wesley’s New Room is the oldest Methodist building in the world and comprises of a 18th century chapel, museum, café and event spaces.

Our Marketing and Communications Officer will raise and maintain the profile and brand identity of JWNR. The main purpose of this role is to grow our audience; aiming to increase footfall and income, in accordance with our vision and mission.

We have a small staff team meaning every role is varied and no two days are the same. We are looking for someone who is able to turn their hand to a range of tasks. Whether it’s collaborating with influencers, printing posters or editing the website, the Marketing and Comms Officer is a busy and pivotal role in the organisation.

This is an exciting time to join the team at John Wesley’s New Room as we are currently developing our new five-year strategy, considering who our main audiences are and what purposes we are trying to fulfil. We are looking for someone to bring new and creative ideas of how we might spread our message in line with our new strategic aims.

Contracted Hours: 24 hours per week. Working hours to be negotiated.

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £16,200 per annum (£27,000 FTE)

Location: On-site/hybrid. Minimum of one day in the office per week (36 The Horsefair, BS1 3JE)

Reporting to: Director
