WECIL – CPD Equalities Disability Training Day – 3^rd September 2025 – Bristol

As part of Culture West, WECIL are providing support and training across the 2 year programme. On the 3rd of September 2025 from 10:00am - 5:00pm WECIL will be running an in-person Accredited CPD Disability Equality Training session at the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority ground floor offices in Bristol. 

This is a free event open to creative businesses, organisations, local councils, funders and creative freelancers who would like to gain Accredited CPD Disability Equality Training. There is a capacity of 25 spaces so please book your tickets in advance to ensure your space.

This CPD Disability Equality Training session will cover the following:

• To explore the impact of prejudice which leads to the discrimination of Disabled people in our society. To debate what underpins this.
• To discover the different approaches to Disability and understand the differences between the Medical and Social models.
• To examine the legal definitions surrounding the rights of Disabled People, and take a brief look at The Equality Act 2010.
• Reasonable adjustments in recruitment practices and at work.
• Overview of the Access to Work Scheme.
• How to plan for Accessible Communications.

Lunch & refreshments on the day will be provided.
