Calling all nature lovers and wilderness wanderers – a brand-new walking book, the Yeover Mendip Walks Book is stepping out this summer, with a dedicated launch event scheduled for Wednesday 30th July at The New Inn in Blagdon.

Yeover Mendip Walks Book celebrates a detailed collection of walks and trails across the Mendips by professional countryman, Les Davies, and Somerset-based writer, Sue Gearing in partnership with Yeo Valley Organic. This is Les and Sue’s latest addition to an expanding collection of walk books resulting from a longstanding partnership.

“We were delighted to be asked if we would write this book for Yeo Valley. There is so much more to our countryside than just the hedge, the wall, woods and fields. Beneath the surface lie the evidence of those who have gone before us. We hope to give you an insight into that past during these explorations.”

Rising from Somerset’s countryside, the book details walks that take you over the real Yeo Valley – where natural beauty and far-reaching views lie ahead. It outlines 12 trails of varying distance and difficulty, with start points ranging from Yeo Valley Organic Headquarters, The New Inn and Compton Martin.

“We have loved working with Sue and Les to publish this Yeo inspired walking book. It will take you over all of Mendip, including Hazel Manor above Compton Martin, and the surrounding area. The walks you will take include fantastic views, as well as places to stop and refresh. Les and Sue point out the things you may not notice that dot this dramatic and fascinating landscape.”

Yeover Mendip Walks Book will officially launch at The New Inn in Blagdon on Wednesday 30th July at 6pm. Les and Sue will be on hand to introduce the book, as well as to recount the inspiration behind their work with nature and to share their top tips for exploring the Valley. Drinks and nibbles will be served from 5.30pm.

The book will be available to purchase from Yeo Valley Organic Headquarters, the Yeo Organic Garden and The New Inn, for a price of £9.99.
