The Love Makers Craft Cafe took Bath by storm when it started up last summer, running a few 'soft' sessions in July which proceeded to go viral on Instagram, boosting our following by 1200% in 6 weeks. Our first official sessions in August (to mark the closure of Julia Davey's beloved shop in Bear Flat) sold out within 24 hours.

Since then we've gone from strength to strength:

  • Welcoming over 500 makers across 7 fantastic venues
  • Bringing a unique "making" element to the Bath Royal Literature and Science Institute's beloved local & independent Makers Market during Bath's famous Christmas Market;
  • Landing a growing raft of solid 5* Google and ClassBento reviews
  • Launching a new website and private event offer which has gone from strength to strength
  • (All whilst part-time consulting and steering 2 kids through primary)

As we look towards our second year:

We are excited to be running a handful of very special Regency Crafternoon Sessions over the Jane Austen 250 Festival celebration where makers can create their own Regency/ Austen inspired souvenir (bookable via the website).

We will be returning to BRLSI for the Makers Market with a special menu of festive crafts, as well as fun creative gifts and stocking-fillers.

We will also be diversifying the offer to include more fun and rewarding crafts for makers of all abilities including disadvantaged adults and - we hope - a much-requested after school provision for children.
