Haynes Motor Museum is the perfect destination for families seeking fun and discovery this summer.

From outdoor car displays and Scalextric racing to a new interactive exhibition and themed family trail, all alongside the UK’s largest collection of cars and motorcycles, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Be among the first to explore a major new exhibition, ‘British Icons: Driven by Innovation’, uncovering the untold stories of the people behind some of Britain’s most iconic cars. Enjoy hands-on, interactive elements – including the chance to create your own design and see it projected onto a Mini.

This theme continues with the new ‘Rule Britannia’ family trail, inviting visitors to discover fascinating facts about the Museum’s standout British cars.

Watch history come to life as cars from across the decades take part in daily outdoor displays. From the charming Heinkel Kabine to the powerful 2005 Ford Mustang, visitors can get up close to and even sit in some of these iconic cars.

For more driving action, race friends and family on the Somerset-themed Scalextric track, featuring landmarks such as Cheddar Gorge and the Glastonbury Pyramid Stage. Prefer precision over speed? Head to the remote-control car track and test your skills.

Younger visitors can run wild in the motoring-themed outdoor play area or navigate around the Museum in Little Tikes cars and families can refuel at Café 750.

Plus, don’t miss the final chance to explore the DriveTribe exhibition, featuring TV-famous cars including Richard Hammond’s Aston Martin DB9, famously driven across the desert in The Grand Tour: Sand Job. The last day to see the exhibition is 25 August.

The fantastic lineup of summer fun concludes with Haynes Motor Museum’s inaugural motor show, the John Haynes Classic, on Sunday 7 September. This special event will bring together enthusiasts, families and the local community to celebrate motoring history as the Museum turns 40 this year.

The Museum is located just off the A303 at Sparkford in Somerset. Book online to save 10%, with the option to return free for 12 months. Entry to the John Haynes Classic is not included in the standard Museum ticket and must be booked separately.
