And she’s coming back to Bath, the city where she was born, to the delight of her many fans.
Picture Imperfect is the adult sequel to The Illustrated Mum, published a whole generation ago, in 1999 - and it brings us up to date with the characters Dolphin, Star and Marigold.
Dame Jacqueline has been dubbed ‘the patron saint of bookish Millennial women’ and she’s a firm favourite with Bath audiences. Always good company, she’ll be at St Swithin’s Church, Walcot, at 7pm on 8 September.
Actor turned bestselling crime writer Richard Armitage joins Bath Festivals shortly after publication of his gripping new psychological thriller, The Cut.
If you enjoyed Geneva, his bestseller, a Richard and Judy Book Club pick, you’ll want to hear more about The Cut - ‘they say the camera never lies.’
Richard will be at Christ Church, Julian Road, on Wednesday 3 September, 7pm.
Children’s author Katherine Rundell, creator of the brilliant Impossible Creatures, is back with a second in the series, The Poisoned King. And she’s coming to Bath to whet our appetites for more adventures in imaginary, magical kingdoms. Katherine will be at The Forum on Saturday 13 September.
The events serve as an exciting curtain raiser for Bath Children’s Literature Festival later this autumn.
Tickets are on sale now on the Bath Festivals website.
