Brand new for 2025, Bristol Cider Week will kick off on Friday 25th July, and will be a nine-day celebration of the South West’s most famous export, spanning venues and producers from across Bristol and the region. Described as ‘like The Edinburgh Fringe, but for cider’, Bristol Cider Week will showcase the city’s cider-making (and drinking!) heritage, cider and perry producers and orchards, and everything that makes Bristol the cider capital of the world.

Bristol Cider Week will run from Friday 25th July through until Sunday 3rd August, and will include a huge opening party on the iconic SS Great Britain, which will feature meet-the-maker cider tasting sessions, eight pours of craft cider, fine cheese from local producers and a chance to explore the SS Great Britain after hours. Other events will include:

  • Cider City - King Street Takeover 26th & 27th July and a City-Wide Cider Trail 26th July - 3rd August
  • Cider Salon - producer pours of fine and innovative cider at Trinity Centre - 2nd August
  • Cider Makers Market at Wiper & True - 3rd August
  • Closing party at Far Orchard with Branch Cider - 3rd August
  • Plus many more still to be announced…

Bristol Cider Week is the brainchild of some of the leading cider missionaries (evangelists?) from across the industry, including:

  • Gabe Cook — The Ciderologist, an award-winning global cider expert and regular on Sunday Brunch
  • Ed Gibson — Founder and cider maker at Bristol’s own Branch Cider and co-owner of The Apple Cider Boat
  • Dan Heath — Owner of The Cider Box: Urban Cidery & Tap Room
  • Tom Oliver — Founder of Oliver’s Cider and Cider Salon Bristol (hilariously described as ‘the godfather of fine cider) - widely regarded as “one of the best cider makers on the planet’ (quote: Author Pete Brown)
  • Hannah Wallace — Club Manager at Bristol Cider Club Cider Salon Taskmaster & cider campaigner.

Speaking about Bristol Cider Week, co-founder Dan Heath said:

“We’re tremendously excited to celebrate Bristol as the UK Capital of Cider! More cider is enjoyed here than in any other city in the world and we’re surrounded by the great cidermaking counties; Somerset, Herefordshire & Gloucestershire, and Bristol is considered the "gateway" where West Country cider flows into national culture. It’s time to raise a glass to this!”

Hannah Wallace, co-founder adds:

“Craft cider and perry are in the midst of a global renaissance, with more people developing a deep interest in the fruit, orchards, people, and culture that make it possible. Bristol Cider Week will bring the very best of this new wave of craft cider to the streets of our own city this summer.”
