Written and produced by Bristol-born director, Georgia Redman, Fudge Sundae is a brand new dark comedy short, which will be entered into film festivals worldwide this year.

Jack has a secret that he’s nervous to share with his devoted pregnant wife Kate, who has a craving she can’t get enough of - what better time to confess than during dessert?

BAFTA-award winning Scottish Director Jon S. Baird is attached to the project as an Executive Producer. He’s best known for his work on FILTH starring James McAvoy, STAN & OLLIE starring John C Reilly and Steve Coogan which was partly shot on the Bristol harbourside.

The Kickstarter aims to raise £8,650 which will help cover crew, talent, location, kit and insurance fees, the rest of the film has been self funded by the filmmakers. The rewards on offer range from props in the film, an exclusive Zoom 'Q&A with Georgia Redman + Jon S, Baird', all the way through to a plus-one invitation to the Fudge Sundae screening in Bristol

From Writer and Director, Georgia Redman:

“The inspiration behind Fudge Sundae came from a number of places. I’ve always been drawn to dark comedies and stories that push the ‘boundaries’. It’s exciting to be able to tell a story that will undoubtedly surprise audiences, they may feel uncomfortable but I promise it’s for the greater good as well as a good opportunity to laugh!

Without revealing too much, our female lead Kate, played by the divine Emer Heatley is expecting her first child and she can’t get enough of fudge sundaes! We’ll shine a light on a health condition called PICA that can occur during pregnancy and that’s all I’ll say for now.

My hometown has played a big part in my career so far, I was 14 when I directed my first play at Clevedon School for GCSE Drama, later that year I volunteered at the Curzon Cinema, where I co-ran a film club, organised pop up cinema on the Salthouse fields and ushered screenings for a few years. As a City of Bristol college student, I’d shoot locally around Clevedon, including a music video on the Pier. I was a ‘Runner’ on ITV Drama ‘Broadchurch’ when the show came to Clevedon. It’ll be an honour, after living in cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester, to come home and make a film that I hope will be a launching pad for myself and many others. I’m keen to assemble a local team as there are so many talented crew members all around the Somerset area. We’re also offering work experience opportunities to students at the Bristol film school, Boom Satsuma.

I’m proud to call Clevedon my hometown, so naturally, like many filmmakers before me, I want to show off its beautiful landscape on big screen’s across the globe.

Your support towards the film, however big or small, will really make a difference and would mean the world to us.”
