Multi-platinum selling Placebo and Brit-billion certified artist James Arthur are the latest additions to the stellar Bristol Sounds line-up, joining Skindred, The Breeders, Gentleman's Dub Club and The Skints across the seven-day event series.

Soon to release his fifth album, James Arthur will headline Bristol Sounds on Wednesday 26 June and Placebo will headline on Friday 28 June. Special guests and support artists are soon to be announced for both nights. With a SOLD OUT arena tour taking place later this year, James Arthur is at his best and will bring his amazing show to the open-air concert series this summer. As he celebrates the launch of his brand new album, Bitter Sweet Love, tickets for his show at Bristol Sounds go on sale the very same day - making this the perfect combination for any fan. With his last performance in Bristol over six years ago, his powerful vocals and captivating lyrics have continued to resonate with audiences across the globe. Undoubtedly, James Arthur is one world’s biggest streaming artists with over 38 million monthly listeners and Bristol’s amphitheatre is guaranteed to be all-aglow with the light of a thousand phone torches as he re-writes the stars with ballads and hits.

Bringing all the nineties-nostalgia to the city, Bristol Sounds-goers can expect nothing but grunge-rock from the 90s icons, Placebo. More than a quarter-century since Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal started bashing around with broken guitars and toy instruments, the core duo are on fire once again. The band's first album in almost a decade, Never Let Me Go, has an experimental edge, channelling all their skills as songwriters and sound-makers into music that satisfies their near-brutal appetite for self-expression, mixed with the perfect balance of furious relevance that audiences can relate to. With their alt-rock mixed with goth and electronica, the band last played in Bristol in 2015, and almost 10 years later, Placebo are back for one night only at Bristol Sounds, the show is their only current UK show making this a performance not to be missed. With their signature sound of euphoric synth-pop and electronic scuzzy rock, Placebo has built up and maintained a cult following with their unique ability to experiment, and with fans across the country.

Event promoter Conal Dodds of Crosstown Concerts, said: “Bristol Sounds is fundamentally a festival for the people of Bristol, and each year we like to curate a programme that will catch the attention of everyone and anyone! It’s such an eclectic mix of genres and gigs, you’re guaranteed to have a great time. When we’re thinking about our bookings, the line-up has always been put together with the fans at the core of our decision-making, and we can’t wait to watch the crowd's reactions as their favourite artists take to the most incredible stage in the city.”

Bristol Sounds returns to the Bristol Amphitheatre from Saturday 22 June to Sunday 30 June 2024. Adding two more days to the open-air gig series, the event will bring seven unique evenings to the harbourside, including three all-day events on Saturday 22, Sunday 23 and Sunday 30 June 2024. Tickets for all shows as part of the series are on sale at See Tickets: https://bristolsounds.seetickets.com/tour/bristol-sounds
