The third Thursday of November is a date for any wine lover's diary - at least for those who think that wine is for enjoying and not for sitting on investment portfolio balance sheets. Every year, bars across the globe join together in opening the first wine of the season and, once again, KASK will be throwing their annual Beaujolais Nouveau Party, pouring the fresh-from-the-vines wines non-stop and serving up some seriously good cheese + charcuterie to go with it.

Traditionally drank by pickers celebrating the end of harvest, Beaujolais Nouveau is intentionally made to be party juice. Adding to the festivities, KASK will be playing back-to-back French-pop-bangers from a playlist curated by neighbours Friendly Records to keep customers in high spirits.

Charlie Taylor, co-owner of KASK said: “It’s one of our favourite nights of the year because it guarantees total nonsense and chaos. More serious parts of the wine industry sniff at it but wine’s made to be enjoyed, and there’s nothing easier to enjoy than Beaujolais Nouveau. It’s intentionally uncomplicated, completely smashable and super tasty. This year we’ve got seven different Nouveau’s that will be poured from keg, bag-in-box and bottle and shared around until it’s all gone. As usual we’ll be offering flights of small pours so customers can try a variety without breaking the bank, and our neighbours at Friendly Records have come up with a ridiculous and ridiculously good playlist of French pop that’s going to turn KASK into a back-street bar in Paris.”

Anyone wanting to sip on the juicy-stuff can book a table via KASK’s website but walk-ins are welcome so get ready to grab a glass (or three) and get groovy with the Gamay grapes.

And if Nouveau is a little too kitsch for you, the night before the Party, KASK’s regular fortnightly themed Wine and Cheese Tasting offers a broader focus on the (more sophisticated) wines of the region of Beaujolais. As tickets for this event have sold out, they’ll be repeating this Tasting event on Wednesday 22nd November. Tickets are £35 and the event starts at 7.30pm.  For more information on KASK wine tastings and events, follow KASK on Instagram or head to the website www.kaskwine.co.uk
