Evolution, an epic drone light show which promises to take audiences on a mesmerising journey through time and space, takes place this December in Bristol.

Drones in pyramid formation

The event is created by Yuup (the local experiences company), and Celestial (creators of drone light shows for brands across the globe), in collaboration with venue partners Seat Unique Stadium (Gloucestershire County Cricket Club) in Bristol.

For the first time ever, state-of-the-art drone light technology will be used to tell the greatest story of all time. The story of our Evolution.

The story, narrated by Tara Fitzgerald, starts with the Big Bang, the explosive inception of the universe and journeys into the emergence of the sun, our solar system and the planets that inhabit it.

The cosmic voyage accompanied by a cinematic soundtrack, guides viewers through the origins of conscious life on Earth, from the humble beginnings of single-cell organisms to the awe-inspiring reign of the dinosaurs and culminates in a celebration of the diverse tapestry of life on Earth today.

Attendees will experience the very latest in creative entertainment for all ages with this new, spellbinding show and celebration of the living world. Evolution is a captivating homage to the past, celebration of the present and glimpse into the horizons of the future.

What can people expect?
The event itself is suitable for the whole family and for all ages to enjoy. In addition to the main show, event-goers can revel in festive fun with fairground rides, music and a food village with local traders.

Drones on the ground

Last night, for the first time, Evolution was showcased to a select audience of key media in preparation for launching the show to the general public in December.

Launched by Metro Mayor for the West of England, Dan Norris, he comments: “I’m proud Bristol is one of just two cities that will be holding the Evolution drone show telling the magical story of evolution - from the Big Bang to the reign of dinosaurs.

"It just goes to show that when it comes to attracting the country's biggest and best creatives, we're right up there leading.

“And it shows how many amazing things to do we have right here on our doorstep. So once again, whether it’s Christmas shopping galore at Broadmead market, or taking the rare opportunity to see a spectacular drone light show in Bishopston, I urge Bristolians get out there and rediscover all the city, and our amazing region, has to offer.”

Dominic Mills, Founder & CEO of Yuup adds: “The feedback we have had so far has been extraordinary, and we are more excited than ever to bring this new type of winter entertainment to the UK.”

John Hopkins, Celestial Co-founder & Chief Creative Officer comments: “This ground-breaking show tells the age old story of evolution in a brand new way; using our blockbuster drone art. We’re taking viewers on a unique journey through time and space, encouraging positive conversations about how humanity can evolve into a healthier, greener future.”

Georgie Barrat, TV Presenter, states: “Evolution is blending tech and creativity to create a new form of winter entertainment, and it’s a great way for the public, of all ages, to reconnect with science!”
