The Role: You will be responsible for supporting the general running of the kitchen. You will also be responsible for preparing food and prepping ingredients. This is a permanent position. 

The Maple are passionate about local and the food they serve, the cosy restaurant is located in Cleeve. They serve classic dishes with an exciting maple twist, using fresh ingredients and beverages sourced from local businesses. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Awareness of all menu items, methods of production and presentation standards.
  • Preparing food and prepping ingredients; including measuring, peeling, chopping and mixing ingredients. Following recipes and instructions closely. 
  • Supporting the general running of the kitchen and establishing a strong relationship with both the Chef de Partie and Head Chef. 
  • Perform basic cleaning duties. Including keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, sanitation of workstations and washing dishes and utensils, whilst following food hygeine and safety regulations.
  • Maintain effective communication and co-operation with FOH team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Exeprience as a successful Apprentice Chef or Commis Chef
  • A passion for food, combined with creativity and an eye for detail.
  • An understanding of food health and safety standards.
  • Thrive in a team environment.
  • Outstanding time management and multitasking skills.
  • Work effectively under pressure 
  • Enthusiastic and willingness to learn from other members of the team. 
  • Relevant culinary qualifications are not required but preferred.

Pay - £12 per hour

Hours - 40-45
