Noods Levels CIC, a youth-led organisation working to empower young talent by creating new opportunities through collaboration, has launched Tread - a three-part series that will provide aspiring producers the skills and connections needed to support their careers.

Tread’s unique production masterclasses will see some of the UKs leading artists developing the next wave of producers at The Cube Microplex in Bristol on Tuesday 26 September, Tuesday 24 October and Tuesday 21 November priced at just £5.

With the chance to meet and learn from the producers behind British record producer and DJ, D Double E and Nia Archives, Tread is set to enrich and engage aspiring producers and musicians from all disciplines and backgrounds. Hosted by the likes of Bristol MCs and industry experts, Tom Koast, Ben Chilton, and A for Alpha, students will be joined by leading artists from UK Funky, Garage and Drum & Bass aficionado Dismantle and genre defying, experimental electronica powerhouse Aya, to one of the artists keeping the legacy of UK dance music alive, Frazer Ray.

The event kickstarting the series will take place on Tuesday 26 September with Dismantle. Having been immersed in UK club culture for more than a decade, DJing with Bristol pioneer DJ Die and collaborating with legendary MCs D Double, Inja and Emz - the masterclass will be hosted by Bristol-based MC and founder of the Bristol-based record label Durkle Disco, Tom Koast.

The second will run on Tuesday 24 October with London-based artist, Aya. Having dazzled the UK underground with her experimental club productions and genre hopping DJ sets, her mixes showcase her unique style. Drawing inspiration from her creative upbringing in West Yorkshire, Aya’s event will be hosted by one of the heads of Modular institution, Elevator Sound, and co-runner of Paradisco Nights, Ben Chilton.

Completing the series on Tuesday 21 November is Frazer Ray, who is a name that’s taken the UK rave scene by storm with electrifying DJ sets packed with breaks, garage and hardcore. Well-established within the British music scene, Frazer pays homage to the past while keeping an eye on the future, showcasing his high-energy DJ and production skills that are keeping the rich legacy of UK dance music alive. This closing masterclass will be hosted by A for Alpha, who specialise in house, garage and techno.

With each artist sharing their unique journeys and offering vital insight into how they created their iconic sound, they will also share their own idiosyncratic approach to their craft. Each talk will be followed by a Q+A session, which will allow participants to get answers to their burning questions and delve deeper into their careers.

The series project is made possible through the Youth Music Incubator Fund and Footlocker, with support from PMT and Noods Radio. Noods will also be running an eight-week Graphic Design course called Tracking, and a Radio Broadcasting Course with Saffron Records in October.
