This Summer the award-winning Somerset Museum is celebrating soft tops with a brand-new family trail, ‘Now That’s What I Call a Convertible’, featuring old and new cabriolets and convertibles from around the world.

Spot the holiday must-haves hidden in the cars and see how many items you can check off the summer road trip check list. The award-winning Somerset museum is home to the UK’s largest collection of vehicles with over 300 to discover, and offers a great value family day out whatever the weather.

Reminisce in the Memory Lane exhibition or experience life in the fast lane in the Williams F1 exhibition, complete with a dressing up station where visitors can strike a pose and become a Formula One driver for the day! The Museum is also staging special parades of weird and wonderful cars in its outdoor show area. Marvel at a range of cars and bikes as they drive around including the bubble car, a rickshaw, a classic AA Motorcycle and side car, Bentley continental and the iconic Ford Mustang – just a few of the many vehicles on display over the summer.

Visitors can also see under the bonnet of these special motors and maybe even sit behind the driver’s wheel. Kids can run wild in the outdoor motoring themed play area with a mini-road system, go karts and diggers.

Spearheaded by John Haynes OBE in 1985, and the mastermind behind the world-famous Haynes car manuals. The collection has grown over the years and now boasts impressive motors from vintage masters to British classics and racing greats to American muscle.

Visitors can cool down with a drink and get a bite to eat at Café 750 or grab a delicious hot dog and chips in the outdoor pop-up cafe located by the outdoor play area in the picnic area. For younger drivers, a selection of Little Tike cars can transport them around the Museum.

Located just off the A303 at Sparkford in Somerset, it’s the perfect place for a great value fun, family day out. Book online and save 10% plus revisit all year round for FREE.
