Totterdown-based neighbourhood restaurant, BANK will be bringing its World Fire Cooking Series back to Bristol next month with an Aussie Barbie night on Wednesday 16 August. Showcasing fire cooking traditions from across the globe, the Series began with a sold out American Barbecue event in May, and is now set to return for bi-monthly instalments.

While BANK’s ever changing menu is built around an eclectic mix of international influences, these special events see head chef, Jack Briggs-Horan create a sharing feast to celebrate just one fire cooking region. With his trademark contemporary fire cooking style, Jack combines each nation’s barbecue classics with locally sourced produce to deliver the World Fire Cooking Series’ one-off tasting menus.

The BANK Aussie Barbie will serve up a five-course tasting menu for £51 per person, with an Australian wine pairing option available for £33 per person. Each wine has been picked out to complement what’s on the grill and the pairing option will also include an Aussie cocktail on arrival.

The Meat + Fish Menu will feature everything from Sesame Prawn Farci with Charred Gem and Marie Rose Hollandaise, to Barbecued Lamb Shoulder with Spiced Mango, Avocado Bruschetta and Lavender. The Vegetarian Menu includes Smoked Beetroot Tartare with a Deep Fried Egg Yolk and Sesame Tofu with Charred Gem and Marie Rose Hollandaise.

Fresh of the back of being named in The Good Food Guide’s list of Britain’s 100 Best Local Restaurants 2023, BANK is set to hold a range of special events for its growing community of diners, including the first ever BANK Steak Night on Tuesday 1 August and the bi-monthly World Fire Cooking Series.

The BANK Aussie Barbie will take place on Wednesday 16 August from 7pm - 10pm. Tickets cost £51 per person and include a five course tasting menu. Wine pairings are available for £33 per person. Tickets will be available to purchase at www.bankbristol.com from Tuesday 25 July.

BANK in Bristol is open from Wednesday to Saturday 12:00pm - 10:00pm, and on Sunday 12:00pm - 5:00pm. Diners can book via www.bankbristol.com
