Doors will open at 10.00am and screening of the lead up to the Coronation—including the King’s Procession—will also start at 10.00am. The Coronation Service itself will start at 11.00am. The live screening will finish after His Majesty King Charles III has appeared on the balcony at Buckingham Palace.

“We look forward to welcoming people to share in the live screening experience of the Coronation in Bristol Cathedral—which will feel like an extension of Westminster Abbey—on 6 May. It is a wonderful opportunity to be together on this day of national importance as we join in this service both of great seriousness and great joy,” says the Very Rev’d Mandy Ford, Dean of Bristol.

This follows Bristol Cathedral’s commitment as one of the national Coronation live screening venues, providing space for celebration of this historic occasion. The Cathedral would like to thank the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Bristol City Council and the West of England Combined Authority for making this event possible.

There is no charge to attend the Coronation Live Screening. In order to attend, the Cathedral asks the guests to pre-register using this link: bristol-cathedral.co.uk/coronation.

In addition to the live screening, Bristol Cathedral will be holding a Special Evensong in celebration of His Majesty the King’s Coronation on Sunday 7 May at 3.30pm. All are welcome at the service which will be attended by civic leaders from across Bristol.

“We were delighted to work with our friends from St George’s Bristol and choirs across the city to bring together singers to perform the great coronation anthem, Zadok the Priest,” says The Very Revd Dr Mandy Ford, Dean of Bristol. “I hope the singers had an extraordinary experience singing together in Bristol Cathedral and it is a real joy to know that the resulting film will convey our prayers and congratulations to His Majesty on his Coronation.”
