On Saturday, the 22nd of April, music lovers attending celebrations at Rough Trade record store in Bristol can expect to hear live performances from a variety of artists.

From 12 pm until 8 pm, the Nelson Street store will host live performances from The Tallest Man On Earth, Phoria and Wych Elm, among others.

Dylan Whatley, Events Assistant for Rough Trade, said: “We cannot wait to welcome a great variety of artists to Rough Trade Bristol this RSD.

“We look to curate a local focus where we can, so we're thrilled bands like Wych Elm and Getdown Services are on the bill.

“It's going to be another amazing day for both locals and visitors, there's something for all.”

On Record Store Day, customers can also access exclusive merchandise and a bespoke beer.

Rough Trade has collaborated with British artist James Jarvis to design a t-shirt and tote bag that will be made available at stores nationwide.

Jarvis began his career drawing adverts for Slam City Skates, an East London skateboard store, in the early 90s and is best known for his character-based artwork.

And fresh off their recent partnership, London-based brewery Signature Brew and Rough Trade have joined forces to produce a bespoke beer, which will be available at the Bristol store.

The In Session Hefehelles was brewed at the Blackhorse Road Brewery in Northeast London with help from Rough Trade team members, who assisted at every step of the brewing process.

Alexis, a brewer at Signature Brew, described the bespoke beer as “a classic helles style lager with a cheeky hefeweizen twist. Crisp and refreshing at its core, slightly malt forward in character with a light fruity and spicy finish.”

Record Store Day, first celebrated in 2008, is an annual event which aims to support the culture of independently owned record stores. It brings fans, artists and record store employees together for a day filled with live music performances and exclusive releases to celebrate the unique culture.
