Work has started on the construction of a hotel and retail development in North Bristol.

Built by Beard Construction and developed by Baylis Estates, the multimillion-pound project will see the construction of a Premier Inn, Beefeater Restaurant, Aldi superstore and a Costa Coffee drive-thru on Fox Den Road in the Stoke Gifford area of the city.

Groundworks are currently underway on the four-acre greenfield site and the project is scheduled to be completed by the spring of 2024.

The hotel will cover five storeys and comprise 103 bedrooms.

The design work has been carried out by Stride Treglown, project management is by JLL, the Waterman Group is carrying out the structural engineering, Hoare Lea is the M&E consultant and RLB the cost consultant.
