People are being advised to plan their journeys this weekend following the closure of the A367 near Dunkerton to allow emergency repairs to take place.

The closure will begin at 7am Saturday 19 November and remain closed until the works are completed by early morning Monday 21 November. The closure will apply to the stretch of A367 in-between the roundabouts at Odd Down Park and Ride and Ashgrove, Peasedown St. John.

Essential road surface repairs will be carried out at two large areas along the highway.

Bath & North East Somerset Council will also carry out additional works and will be inspecting and cleaning all gullies and cutting back vegetation along the highway.
Councillor David Wood, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services said:
“Works like this are essential to repair damaged or deteriorating highways and keep our highway network at a high standard.

“Traffic Marshals will be on site to assist throughout the closure and all access for residents will be maintained."

“We’re advising motorists to plan their journey to the area ahead of time as unfortunately there may be some delays to traffic, but we’ll work hard to minimise the disruption and apologise for any inconvenience.”

Diversion routes for traffic will be in place and advanced notices have been positioned along the route to warn road users of the road closure, including the council’s variable message signs at Odd Down and Farrington Gurney.
