Bristol Old Vic's Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022 aims for its biggest target yet.
Starting at noon today, Bristol Old Vic will once again be part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, an annual week-long campaign where all donations made to the theatre via The Big Give website from Tue 29 Nov - Tue 6 Dec will be doubled.

This year, the theatre is aiming to raise £50,000 - its biggest target yet - with every penny directly funding a very special Community Show: Orpheus & Eurydice, helping to promote positive mental health and community belonging.

This city-wide, intergenerational project brings together individuals from across Bristol Old Vic's Engagement programmes and partners from across the city. These groups include Bristol Old Vic Young Company, Young SixSix, Oi Polloi, Meadows to Meaders, acta, Bristol Community Choir, and Bristol Old Vic's Adult Company.

Over 150 participants will tap into their own experiences to explore and retell the story of Orpheus & Eurydice, creating a shared story of Bristol that we can all be proud of.
Find out more about our community project Orpheus and Eurydice and how you can help.

What are we aiming to achieve with the funds raised?
As part of this project, Bristol Old Vic will:
•    Deliver opportunities for 150 young people & adults from across Bristol to access the arts.
•    Provide pathways into the arts and beyond through working with a team of professional theatre-makers and mentors.
•    Reduce social isolation and build a vital support network for participants.
•    Foster a sense of community and belonging through telling a shared story of our city.
•    Create an ongoing legacy for years to come, as Bristol Old Vic continues its mission to work as cocreator with communities, empowering them to become artists and find their voice.
We need to raise £50,000 during the appeal week. If you donate via The Big Give between Tue 29 Nov and midday Tue 6 Dec your donation will be DOUBLED for free.
Bristol Old Vic is internationally well-known for its West-End transfers and five-star productions, but the ground-breaking work it does to bring creative opportunities to young people and adults in every postcode in the city is less well-known. Bristol Old Vic’s Engagement team work tirelessly across Bristol to help people harness their imaginative powers, gain confidence and find their voice.
